My Favorite Online Home Decor Stores

Like most of the world, I am a huge fan of online shopping. From stationery to event decorations to rugs and lamps, I am constantly paging through the Internet to look for my latest decor or event planning need. Over the years, I’ve found two tried and true online home decor sites that I’ve come to love, and I thought I would share them with you!

  • Overstock.com: I use Overstock to find exact replicas of expensive items such as sisal rugs for discounted prices. A sisal rug at Pottery Barn can set you back about $250.00 plus shipping, while at Overstock you can find two sisal rugs for that price. My favorite part about Overstock is their free shipping charge. No matter how many items you purchase, your whole order will ship for free! It’s so nice not to have to figure in shipping prices to a total purchase!
  • JossandMain.com: This site is so fun! I love getting their daily emails regarding the new types of furniture and home decor accessories they’ve added to their sales. You have to sign up to become a Member, but once you join, you’ll drool over the many name-brand items they have for up to 70% off retail prices. Each sale is separated into different decorating styles such as Nautical/Coastal Living, Traditional French, Contemporary, et cetera. A word of warning, though: Make sure to carefully check the measurements and dimensions of a piece of furniture to make sure it will fit your space because all sales are final, prohibiting returns.
  • Etsy.com: Etsy is an event planner’s dream! Any time I am looking for a specialty item for a client (such as striped straws, burlap banners, et cetera), I turn immediately to Etsy. I’m a big believer in promoting small businesses, and Etsy allows small business owners with creative minds to have a place on which to sell their wares. This site is especially helpful when I cannot locate a specific type of fabric. I’ve had a lot of luck with Lisa O’Hearn who operates Thimbleana, creating beautiful table runners and table cloths that I have used for past events.
