I have decided that I have a love-hate relationship with ceiling fans. Their practicality I can understand, but let's be honest: there aren't too many gorgeous ceiling fans. Or so I thought.
A client of mine despises the ceiling fans in his home (as he should---the previous owner had a penchant for fans covered in faux wire ivy vines), and wants to replace all of them. I started to investigate the different sizes, types, and costs of fans, and I was blown away!

Fans are pretty pricey, and there are actually a large number of beautiful yet practical fans. I'm partial to ones with a more rustic look such as the outdoor lantern one from Lowe's featured below. Ceiling fans that act as both a light fixture and a fan are pretty, too, such as the brushed nickel fan below.
Since they are pretty costly, I think my client will be replacing each fan one room at a time. I'm loving the chrome ceiling fan option to serve as both ceiling fan and light fixture for my client because it would match everything throughout his home.
