Wedding Wednesdays: Crafting the Perfect Welcome Basket

Now that a lot of the big things have been decided on for our wedding (food, band, location, etc.), it's time to turn to the fun stuff or as I like to call it, "the pretty." We've been working on the design concept for our reception look (flowers, lighting, tablescapes, etc.), and now I'm working on what I would like our welcome baskets to look like.

The weddings I've attended have had a variety of ways to welcome their guests. From mini bottles of champagne to a hangover preparedness kit, they've all been clever and creative. A wedding Brian and I recently attended had beach bags monogrammed with the date of the wedding and the couple's names. They were handcrafted in Bangladesh where the mother of the bride currently lives. This was a special touch, especially since their nuptials took place at the beach.

We're going to have a number of out of town guests, so I want them to feel instantly welcomed and loved the minute they check in! I do want to remain conscious of our wedding budget, however, so I'm not going to go too over the top. I won't reveal what I plan to give our guests, but I'm definitely taking inspiration from these photos. I love the idea of a pretty printed itinerary with suggestions of what to do in your hometown.

What was your favorite part of a wedding welcome basket?
