The Apartment Renovation Reveal: Part Two

Here's part two of our amazing apartment renovation! Enjoy!

The bathroom was covered in this dingy, flowered wallpaper, but it had great white tile to work with. We painted over the wallpaper, and then we removed the sliding glass frosted shower doors, and added a striped yellow shower curtain to give it some pizzazz.

The old mirrored medicine cabinet and light fixture above the sink had to go. We tore out the medicine cabinet and hung a silver mirror and added a double sconce light fixture above it. I love how all of the silver fixtures flow together with the white tile. This is definitely a bathroom I would love to get ready in!
Next, we have the den area. It could be used as a second bedroom, if necessary, but we designed it as a den/study space. Bright valances were added to the room to complement the area rug and the navy blue color scheme we went with.

We constructed a daybed out of old wooden pallets and spray painted it navy blue (stay tuned for a how-to on the pallet bed!). We covered a twin mattress in a bedspread we got during an AWESOME sale at Kohl’s ($30.00 per quilt!) and have plans to make large pillows to go on either end of the bed.
The desk was purchased at a local church thrift store and the chair was found, as is, at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for $5.00. The blue and white checkered pattern of the chair already perfectly matched all of our existing decor...score!

The artwork above the bed was scored at Goodwill for $15.00 each. They were already perfectly framed and matted...another great find! The mirror was another thrift store score that we originally thought about having as a square until William thought it would look cooler hung like a kite. Perfect!
I’ll be finishing the tour tomorrow with a final tour of the bedroom!
